Wilson: Time to say goodbye to EU

Sammy Wilson has said that it is time for the UK to leave the European Union.

Mr Wilson said:

“Yesterday a Sun/YouGov poll shows that 48% of people want the UK to leave the EU while only 35% want to remain. As a member of the Better off Out campaign group, I am pleased that yet another poll shows strong public support for withdrawal from a political union that costs us vast amounts of money, subjects us to mad rulings from EU court decisions, and places a massive regulatory burden on industry. And of course the people of the UK never voted to join the EU. Although through a referendum we gave our support to continued membership of the EEC, we have never been asked our opinion on membership of the political union that we are now a part of and subject to.
