“Education Minister squandering money on Irish Language schools, says Wilson”
East Antrim MP Sammy Wilson has slammed the Education Minister Caitroina Ruane for approving a new Irish Language school in Londonderry, despite the fact that one Irish Language school, only 2.5 miles away, has 106 empty desks.
Mr Wilson said:
“This is the height of mismanagement - it is simply beyond belief. Using her ministry to promote Irish Language education is to be expected from this Minister. But defying her advisors, officials and inspectors in order to set up an Irish language school in an area which is overflowing with empty desks is either incompetence and idiocy in the extreme, or evidence of a Minister who is focused on nothing else than pursing her republican agenda.
It is time for this fiscally irresponsibly Minister to stop squandering taxpayers money on her ridiciouls pet projects and put it to use where it is needed most.
The DUP will be raising this issue in the Assembly, and ensure that she is held accountable for her actions.”
