“Wilson lends support to calls for Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare”

Sammy Wilson MP has today signed an Early Day Motion in Parliament calling for the government to actively support the development of a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare.

Speaking from Westminster, Mr Wilson said:

“Many of my constituents have been in contact with me in regard to animal welfare since I have been elected and I have been in firm agreement with them that it is important that we raise awareness of animal cruelty and that we push to improve treatment of animals across the world.

The motion that I have added my name to today has the potential to do just that and it is important that constituents continue to lobby their MPs on this subject, so that we can ensure that this issue moves up the political agenda.”
